Daybreak began with a borrowed camera

The morning has changedand small brands deserve a crew that is up for it.

What started as two friends and one tripod slowly grew into something bigger:

a studio for the early hours.

Meet the early risers

( the people behind the camera )

  • A camera operator holding a video camera in a studio

    Tobi Adeyemi

    Director

Started out filming his aunt's bakery on a borrowed camera. Still thinks the best light is the first hour, and still turns up before the bread does.

  • A photographer in a jacket aiming her camera in a studio

    Marta Lindqvist

    Photographer

Ten years of portraits for people who say they hate having their picture taken. Shoots the stills alongside every film, usually from the floor.

  • A young videographer adjusting a camera on a tripod

    Sam Okoro

    Camera and edit

Sets up the tripod, then sits down and cuts what he shot. Believes a film is finished when there is nothing left to take out.

  • An older woman in a knitted sweater taking a photograph with a vintage camera

    Ruth Hale

    Producer

Keeps the schedule, the budget and the kettle. Has never once let a shoot run over, and brings her own film camera in case anyone forgets theirs.

We are more than a studio.

Our film crew and our edit suite share one front door. Nothing is handed over a wall, so nothing gets lost on the way.
